Jess is the Community Engagement Librarian at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She serves as the instruction librarian to the social sciences. Her work focuses on the application of relational organizing methods to academia, including the study of vulnerability and restorative practices in information literacy instruction, organizational culture, and community-engaged research. She is dedicated to the work of ending mass incarceration and is a lead partner of the Muhlenberg College Inside/Out Prison Exchange program.
Service
Following a term of service as the president of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries, Jess now serves as the chair of the Community Liaison Committee. In this role, Jess facilitates the collaboration of local professional organizations for library workers.
Jess is also a standing member of the LVAIC Information Literacy Learning Community planning committee. This learning community creates professional development opportunities for LVAIC faculty, librarians, and staff to collaboratively address information literacy needs and challenges across all LVAIC institutions.
